About

The Glasgow Reporter is the hyperlocal news website for Glasgow. It is aimed at people living and/or working in the city, although some of the content may also be of interest to visitors.

We welcome contributions from anyone who has something to say about Glasgow. If you have an article, or even an idea for an article which you could write, then please email us theglasgowreporter@gmail.com or use our Contact us page.

You may also call us on 07791 406 498 if your enquiry or story is urgent. Or contact us on Twitter.

We welcome press releases from any PR companies with a story to tell us and our readers about Glasgow businesses or events happening here. We use press releases to get as many stories as possible out to our readers, although they are always edited and checked before publication.

Photographs are essential to us so that our pages are alive with good, relevant images, and we take our own photographs or use photos from others but only with express permission. If you have photos you think we could use then please feel free to email and we will publish with full attribution to you or indeed your business.

We use video and audio where we can, employing the ever-advancing technology available. For example we have a Bambuser channel which sometimes streams video live to our site. You can see our latest footage on Bambuser which is filmed with an iPhone in our archive Bambuser footage which is on our Bambuser page here. It is possible for this footage to be used by others but we would urge you to say where it originated from and give us credit for our work.

Our sister publication The Edinburgh Reporter has a YouTube channel which you can see here.

All of our audio reports are sent to Audioboo and you can listen to these here.

You may subscribe FOR FREE!! to The Glasgow Reporter to receive a once daily update of our articles by completing the subscribe details at the right hand side of any page.

If you would like to help us in our quest to make the site even better and to reward our journalists for our work then perhaps you would consider making a donation of £1 now and then by using the Donate button below?

If you think of doing this to help us run this and our other sites then thank you:)

We have advertising opportunities across the site and welcome enquiries about this.

Your advert could be published on our site today!

Advertising with us is very effective, and very reasonably priced.

For our lowest price of £40 you could have 10 separate advertising slots in the middle of a selection of articles over a ten day period.

Read the rates below, but if you would like to try out an ad space then we will be happy to do that for you and then give you the exact statistics at the end of a trial period. Just tell us what you would like to do. We are very flexible, but we need the advertising revenue to keep the website going.

Our readers are in the main based in Glasgow, so if that is your target audience then you could use us to reach your new customers.

You can either cap your spend by time or spend, and we keep an eye on the number of views for you. There are various other kinds of ads available on The Glasgow Reporter:-

The Super Banner position is across the top of the header. This space costs £10 per thousand views. (CPM)

There are two spaces to the right of the Super Banner. These are charged at £5 per thousand views.

The adverts on the right hand margin of the site are priced at £150 per 3 months.

There is a premium spot between each and every article and the comments section which is priced at £5 per thousand views.

Send us a jpeg and we can usually do the rest!

You can also mix and match these positions on an agreed basis. These adverts are full colour and are ‘click through’ so your new customers will be redirected to your own website with the minimum of fuss.

All you have to do is send us a jpeg of your advert and we will make it go live very quickly. If you do not have an advert then send us what you want to say and for a small additional charge for the design, your imagined advert can become a reality very quickly.

We can also publish an advertorial about your business which can then be shared many times on Facebook and Twitter, and the cost of one of these articles is a one-off charge of £110.

We can use your press releases to help populate our news section, but we would ask you to please look into the advertising above to really help us out.

Email us now for any further details.

We would very much appreciate your support – and we are sure your new customers will love it too.

The Glasgow Reporter was founded, developed and is edited by freelance multimedia journalist, Phyllis Stephen.
