The sun is continuing to shine on players in Stirlingshire this week, as People’s Postcode Lottery has today announced that together locals have won a £2 million Postcode Millions prize.
The winning postcode sector has been revealed as G63 0, with all People’s Postcode Lottery players in the area set to win a share of the £2 million prize. Winners will discover just how much of the £2 million prize they have won at a winner’s celebration on Saturday 29 June. Those playing with the full winning postcode, which will be revealed at an event being held in the grounds of Balfron Primary School, will walk away with the lion’s share of the winnings.
With winners from across the G63 0 postcode sector, Balfron Primary School offers the perfect location. Events Manager Nicole Allan said:-“We wanted to find a really central location for all our players to head to and the primary school in Balfron is absolutely ideal. I can’t wait to get everything set up and see the excited faces of all the players at the event.”
However, it’s not just players of People’s Postcode Lottery who benefit from playing the charity lottery. Players have raised over £28.6 million for good causes and charities throughout Great Britain, including Maggie’s Cancer Caring Centres, CHILDREN 1ST and Scottish Wildlife Trust, which operate throughout Scotland. Each of these charities have received over £2 million in support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.
As a charity lottery, funding from players also supports a range of good causes all over Great Britain, including projects in Stirlingshire. To date over £283,000 has been awarded to 57 projects from People’s Postcode Trust, which is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by the players. Central Scotland Forest Trust and Scottish Spina Bifida Association, both of which operate in Stirlingshire, have each received £10,000 to develop their projects further.
People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt said:- “It’s fantastic that we are heading back to Scotland to see another community share £2 million – we had a great time in the Highlands at Christmas so it’ll be nice to be out in the Scottish sunshine for this year’s June Postcode Millions. I want to wish all the players a massive congratulations and good luck! I look forward to seeing you all at Balfron Primary School on Saturday 29 June.”
Organisers will reveal more details regarding the party, including the minimum amount won, in the coming days at postcodelottery.co.uk and in press.
