Local care organisation quit RBS

A Glasgow-based care company, Mochridhe, has switched banks from RBS to Clydesdale after RBS’s refusal to support their plans for expansion.

Mochridhe work with people with disabilities to help them live independently. The care organisation says it left RBS following dissatisfaction with their services.

Clydesdale Bank has now given the company a refinancing package of £415,000. This includes £200,000 of funding arranged through the Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme.

This financial boost will allow Mochridhe to roll out four different pilot sites throughout Scotland over the next twenty four months.

Managing director of Mochridhe, Jon Fleming, explained why he decided to switch bank.

He said:- “I was becoming increasingly frustrated with RBS’s service at a time when we have ambitious expansion plans in place, and are seeking to build the business significantly over the short-term. It seemed the RBS healthcare team no longer had the power to make decisions based on their personal knowledge of the companies they dealt with. I therefore approached Clydesdale Bank, who stepped in immediately and supplied us with the financial package we needed.”

Mochridhe’s move from RBS to Clydesdale Bank was assisted by Derek Breingan. Mr Breingan had previously been RBS’s health care manager with responsibility for the Mochridhe account until last May, when he moved to work for Clydesdale as their National Lead for healthcare sector.

He commented on why he believed it was important for the care organisation to expand:- “Mochridhe is an established Scottish business with a commitment to supplying the best possible personal assistance and living support to individuals and help them to lead independent lifestyles.”

He added:- “The company has an excellent strategy for future development, backed by a knowledgeable and well-known team and I am delighted to be able to support them in meeting their objectives.”
