Craft Market for Glasgow Santas

Santas searching for an extra special gift for friends or relatives this Christmas should head to the indoor craft market in Merchant Square.

Located on Candleriggs at the heart of the historic Merchant City, Glasgow’s cultural, fashion and food quarter, the craft market in Merchant Square specialises in hand-crafted items that simply cannot be found anywhere else.

Rather than mass manufactured products, the craft market in Merchant Square revels in one-off, specially made pieces and quality products including: cards; jewellery; paintings; aromatherapy products; home-made jams and chutneys; photography and fashion accessories.

Laura Phelps, of Merchant City Properties, said: “If you’re still desperately seeking the perfect Christmas gift for your nearest and dearest, then it’s time to come round to the Square!

“And in-between browsing a broad selection of arts and crafts, you can relax in the Square’s fabulous selection of restaurants and cafes, all set within a covered and heated Victorian courtyard.”

Once part of the old Glasgow Fruit Market, Merchant Square is imbued with the history of the area’s dominating Victorian architecture, although today this sense of history blends seamlessly with the distinctly cosmopolitan ambiance that pervades the surrounding cobbled streets that bring the outside in.

The Merchant Square craft market runs every weekend Saturday 11am-6pm and Sunday 12noon-6pm. For further information go to www.merchantsquareglasgow.com
